ALWAYS VERIFY AIRPORT INFORMATION THROUGH OFFICIAL SOURCES. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS PAGE FOR FLIGHT PLANNING! Quick Stats*
West Memphis Municipal Airport (AWM) is located in West Memphis, Arkansas about 8 miles west of downtown Memphis. Its convenient location relative to downtown Memphis and its sizable runway with an ILS for Runway 17 make it an active reliever airport for Memphis International (MEM). It also houses an active air freight charter company that uses several vintage DC3s, among other types. The FBO on field offers aircraft rental and flight training. There is a control tower on the airport, but it has long been abandoned. For many years the field used the old control tower frequency as the CTAF. In 1999 that changed and the CTAF/Unicom frequency is now 123.05. VFR pilots should be aware of IFR traffic that often uses the ILS 17 for practice (and real) approaches.
